History:

On 19 April 2008, the beginning of the construction process of Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore was done. The park was opened on 18 March 2010, after two years of its construction. Between 14 to 21 February 2010, Universal Studios was opened for “sneak peek week”, as a Chinese new year celebration from 5 pm to 9 pm every night. Even though the visitors have to pay SGD 10 to enter the park.

Even the rides were not open till two days the park was full. On 5 March 2010, it was announced that Universal Studios will be open at 8:28 am for a soft-opening phase on 18 March 2010. Since then on 13 March 2010, the team of Resorts World Sentosa and their families were allowed to visit Universal Studios before the public. The park served it the soft opening period from 18 March 2010 to 26 October 2010.

On 28 May 2011, The official grand opening of Universal Studios was held and on 27 May 2011, the ‘grand opening gala’ was held in the evening. Asian personalities such as Jet Li, Maggie Cheung, Zhao Wei, and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul appeared at the gala event with some around 1600 guests. On October 21, 2011, Universal Studios also began its Halloween Horror Nights events as well. Since then, On 3 April 2019, Universal Studios got expanded and merged with two more former new themed areas.

Universal Studios has attracted more than 2 million visitors from 9 months of its opening and has kept on attracting more and more people. Currently, Universal Studios has covered around 49 hectares of land with 16 rides in it. Universal Studios has been marked by Universal Parks & Resorts as a “one-of-its-kind theme park in Asia” and promised that the park will remain one of its kind in Southeast Asia for the next 30 years.
