History:

In July 1886, Coca-Cola was invented by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton, from Columbus. At this time, Coca-Cola was advertised as helpful in relief from headaches and placed primarily on sale in drugstores as a medicinal beverage. Since 1895, Coca-Cola was available in every state in the union. In 1919, the Coca-Cola Company was purchased by Ernest Woodruff’s trust company of Georgia. Candler was the first businessman who used merchandising in his advertising industry. Coca- Cola’s first ad was Coca-Cola. Delicious! Refreshing! Exhilarating! Invigorating!” In 1948, Coca-Cola claimed 60% of its market share. By 1984, the share of Coca-Cola company reduced to 21.8% due to its new competitor Pepsi.
